DVD & BLU-RAY DUPLICATION

Like the compact disc, the DVD landed with an equal amount of anticipation and excitement. Released in Japan first in November 1996, the DVD would be one of the final nails in the coffin of its dominant predecessor, the VHS tape. Despite the best efforts of the VCD and the Laser Disc, neither had been able to unseat the VHS tape. And although the DVD wouldn't see VHS off that quickly, when TV boxes with a record facility landed too, that was pretty much it. The sound and picture quality of DVD meant it was embraced by both retailers and consumers. The DVD also brought with it the ability to store data up to  4.7 gigabytes versus CD which can only store up to 750 megabytes. Wind forward about 10 years from the launch of DVD and Blu-Ray landed into our world. Bringing with it what many regarded as the next generation in sound and picture quality - many would argue cinema quality. Today the DVD and  Blu-Ray exist side by side with both offering uses for a range of projects across many different sectors.
